If we all can remember
a few small things
Kindness is one
for happiness it brings

Honesty, too
No lies to be told
We all can feel trusted
the young and the old

Love is important
for all to embrace
a feeling so pure
the pleasure of grace

Respect is crucial
We need it to feel
honoured and loved
the word does appeal

Peace is amazing
a world it would be
If we could make this happen
for our children could see

If we all could remember
a few small things
The joy we would feel
the songs we could sing.

From the beginning of time
I washed my soul
cleansed it from within

Treated others
with love and respect
But rarely let them in

Through the sea
my mind does travel
washing up on shore

Emotions cruise
Like rolling waves
bleeding like a sore

Many reasons
deep within
ache to be released

Perhaps a time
albeit unknown
the pain will come to cease
